An exciting opportunity has emerged to support to the Education team in the coordination of complaints, Subject Access Requests (SARs) and Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.


As Information Support Officer you will have day-to-day responsibility for maintaining the request and complaints databases and for tracking the timely completion of requests.


You will also support Child Friendly Complaints process ensuring that this is embedded in the development of responses where appropriate.


It is essential you have SVQ level 3 in Business Administration or similar, Modern Apprenticeship, and/or equivalent work experience or willingness to work towards the qualification as well as experience of working in public sector environment.

You must have experience delivering services in process driven environments, preparing files/ information for release to services users, managing demanding customer relationships, the ability to apply data protection principles to a variety of different scenarios as well as experience of standard computer systems including practical experience of Microsoft Office.

An understanding of service users’ reasons for requesting release of their information and sensitivity to the issues these might present for individuals, an understanding of complaints processes and how to make effective use of complaint systems is also essential.

You must have effective interpersonal communication skills and ability to be empathetic and calm, even when dealing with emotional service users as well as effective organisational and time management skills and ability to multitask whilst maintaining a responsible approach to handling sensitive information.

Please note that this post is temporary, subject to business needs and funding for 23 months or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever date is the earlier.
