Summary

We are looking for two motivated, caring individuals interested in being a part of our Housing Options Team.

The main duties of the post will include (but not limited to):
• Assessing new Homeless and Home Search applications and awarding the relevant priority banding in accordance with the Council’s Allocation Policy.
• Undertaking checks on all active applications to ensure existing qualifying criteria remains.
• Liaising with partners and other professional bodies.
• Dealing with all supporting evidence and documentation (in all formats) ensuring they are managed on appropriate IT systems.
• Dealing and resolving customer enquiries via email, phone, letters or in-person in a quick and professional manner.
• Performing all administration duties, producing letters, printing and scanning accurately and efficiently.

You will have effective IT, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to carry out needs assessments and organise your own workload. You must be empathic, sensitive but have a practical attitude towards dealing with service users who have chaotic lifestyles or multiple social problems. A working knowledge of housing related welfare rights and benefit issues is desirable but not essential.
