We are seeking an experienced and qualified EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in St Helens starting in January.
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of all children.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons aligned with the EYFS curriculum.
- Supporting children's learning through play-based and structured activities.
- Observing and recording children's progress, contributing to assessments and reports.
- Providing one-to-one and small group interventions for children who need additional support.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting social and emotional development.
- Preparing and maintaining learning resources and displays.
- Supervising children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring safety at all times.
- Supporting children with personal care needs.
- Assisting with snack and meal times.
- Communicating effectively with parents and carers, sharing progress.
- Working collaboratively with teachers and other staff to create a nurturing environment.
- Ensuring compliance with safeguarding and health & safety policies.
- Helping with phonics, early literacy, and numeracy activities.
- Supporting children with additional needs.
- Contributing to creating a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment.
What you'll need to succeed
- EYFS qualification.
- Previous experience working in an EYFS setting.
- Strong understanding of child development and safeguarding practices.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
- Comfortable with personal care responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for early years education.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one
- Full right to work in the UK
