We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Chef de Partie with a background in exceptional food catering services to join our business and work at one of our highly prestigious education settings.

Nestled in the heart of Surrey this prestigious independent school caters for 1000 day pupils and staff. We provide breakfast , lunch, and extensive hospitality service.

Lingfield College operates from Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays.

Job Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef De Partie to join our culinary team in Lingfield. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for overseeing a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring high-quality food preparation and maintaining excellent standards of hygiene and safety.

  • Manage and operate a designated section of the kitchen, such as sauces, grills, or pastry
  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to menu specifications and quality standards
  • Assist the Sous Chef and Head Chef in developing new menu items and specials
  • Ensure proper food storage, stock rotation, and labeling practices are followed
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Train and supervise junior kitchen staff in your section
  • Collaborate with other chefs to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely food service
  • Monitor and control food waste, maintaining cost-effective practices
  • Participate in inventory management and assist with ordering supplies as needed
  • Contribute to menu planning and recipe development


Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Partie in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment
  • Excellent food preparation skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in knife handling and other culinary techniques
  • In-depth understanding of food safety principles and health regulations
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Time management and organizational abilities
  • Creativity and passion for culinary arts
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items when necessary
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
