Summary
Provide a professional, customer focused Materials Management service to all userdepartments.To order stock (on set days as well as ad-hoc/urgent requests) for clinical & non-clinical areas using a variety of different ordering systems.To put stock away where orders have been raised for.Housekeeping by way of breaking down cages and disposal of boxes and packaging.Reconciliation of delivery notes to orders placed.Ensure stocks are managed appropriately and cost effectively, whilst meeting the customers departmental or area needs. Including the removal, return or disposal of excess or redundant stock and assisting with high urgency product recalls following safety alerts.In liaison with senior and clinical colleagues, identify and explore opportunities for potential costsavings for the Trust, whilst maintaining quality standards, including the rationalisation and standardisation of medical and surgical products.Assist with statistical analysis and production of management reports as required: including the review of stock levels of Materials Management managed products on wards/departments (in agreement with the appointed ward/department key personnel and at an agreed frequency) and stock takes of these products.Organise appropriate stock storage in liaison with the ward/department in order to facilitate ease of use for all and to ensure a methodical stock control and data capture process, to include appropriate stock rotation and routine housekeeping.Maintain a high level of communication with wards/departments to ensure customers. Including but not limited to: ensuring awareness of any product changes and shortages, awareness of correct storage of goods in compliance with fire and infection control regulations (identifying risks as necessary), keeping wards/departments appraised of any changes to the service.Maintain a high level of communication and interaction amongst the Materials Management, Supply Chain and wider Procurement teams to ensure the sharing of best practice and knowledge.Actively build and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, key customers and external organisations, to a consistently high standard of customer care.Should the need arise, provide operational support for the wider supply chain function (Materials Management, Receipts & Distribution and Break Bulk) across all Hospital sites.In support of customer requirements, undertake awareness training if provided in medical and surgical products and develop commodity knowledge.
