Summary
Knowledge, Training and Experience To have an understanding of the imaging techniques carried out and the associated patient preparation. To be able to cope with an unpredictable workload and promote good team working practice. To have a working knowledge of equipment used for patient support e.g. wheelchairs, specialised imaging beds and trolleys. To participate in the mentoring of newly appointed Imaging Assistants. To identify own training needs and attend relevant courses. To study and complete the Care Certificate, and apply the learn skills to benefit the patients and the department. Learn, demonstrate and apply knowledge of radiation safety. Image Processing To check and maintain the stock of accessory equipment in the working area. May be required to participate in stock control. To trouble shoot problems where appropriate and report malfunctions to a senior member of staff. Clerical and General Responsibilities Required to have keyboard skills in relationship to clerical duties and to assist the office administration as necessary. Ensure that the workload list, request forms and associated documents are available at the start of a session. To use the Imaging department and Nervecentre computer systems to obtain and sometimes record patient information. To accurately record and relay messages, complying with the Data Protection Act. To participate in audit and attend department clinical governance sessions. To replenish clinical stock in the area of work and ensure the environment is clean and tidy. Prepare the area for a subsequent session, to include powering on and off imaging equipment and securing the area at the end of the day.
