Job Title: NIGHT SUPPORT WORKER Support Accommodation Children in Care 16 -18
Establishment: Empire Coaching Limited

Brief description of job:
A night support worker is responsible for supporting young people by providing physical and emotional support (general support) during a waking night shift. This involves working as part of a team to maintain a stable, happy, and caring environment that puts the health, safety, and welfare of young people first. Basic but vital parts of this include regular and punctual attendance at work and the need to act professionally and to be a good role model for young people and other staff. A night support worker may be required to work in any part of the establishment.
Core Expectations:
1. To remain vigilant and do everything possible to protect young people and others from abuse of a physical, emotional, sexual, neglectful, financial, or institutional nature. This includes an absolute requirement to report any incident of this nature you witness, hear about, or suspect.
2. To attend work reliably and punctually.
3. To know where Empire Coaching Limited policies are kept and to be aware of and follow their contents.
4. To encourage regular sleep patterns and support evening and night activities in accordance with a young person’s support plan.

6. To do everything possible to maintain a safe, clean and enjoyable environment for the young people to live in.
7. To learn about young people’s individual needs and help meet those needs in the most appropriate way; to assist in the person-centered planning process and promote a young person’s choices.
8. To encourage young people to do as much for themselves as possible whilst providing support, as needed, within formal/informal learning settings (educational/leisure/residential/community).
Health & Safety:

This includes contributing to a safe and secure environment for young people.
This duty includes checking that any person entering Empire Coaching’s property has a right to do so and their visit is recorded in accordance with Empire Coaching procedures. – Although this is to be very unlikely dur to the age range of young people we accommodated.
Most demanding aspect of the role:

A successful night support worker will empower young people to make choices about their lives and enable them to fulfill their full potential.
As a night wake support worker, you are also to ensure all cleaning and paperwork is completed and up-to-date for the next staff on shift in the morning.
As we provide 24/7 support, you need to be able to work shifts, including weekends, some nights and Bank Holidays. You will also be required to accompany young people we support on holidays and attend training courses and other activities if this is required.
