Summary
HARD SERVICES MANAGER
Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 per annum
Working Hours: Permanent, Full Time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8:30am and 5:30pm

G4S Facilities Management has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Hard Services Manager to own the day-to-day delivery of hard services in a healthcare environment.
You will be fully responsible for managing and monitoring all maintenance, from small works to major Lifecycle renewals, across self-delivered and sub-contracted activities. This role requires assuming key compliance duties, including acting as the Water RP and Fire RP as needed.
This is a full time, permanent position based at Churchill Hospital.
Core Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Culture
Lead and manage a technical team to deliver exceptional maintenance, remedial, and reactive services, including project work, across the Hospital PFI estate.
Hold Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility for the Site Team, including resourcing, training, and development of all personnel.
Drive a positive and agile team culture across all aspects of contract delivery, acting as a paragon for G4S values.
Nurture and develop team members to achieve their full potential, ensuring sufficient expertise and necessary appointments are in place to meet service requirements.
Technical and Compliance Oversight
Regulatory Adherence: Ensure strict adherence to HTM standards and all other relevant regulatory and statutory compliance standards.
Directly responsible for the compliance of site systems within scope.
Serve as the COSHH Coordinator for the site HFM team. Review and implement Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) for all tasks within scope.
Meet all contractual SLAs and ensure continuous self-monitoring of tasks within scope to guarantee quality and timely delivery.
Asset, Data, and Improvement Strategy
Manage and control the drawn database to confirm data accuracy and integrity. Put robust systems in place to ensure adequate quality and quantity of data capture to support the Compliance and Risk Manager.
Contribute to the development of best practice methodologies for assessing asset condition, driving asset maintenance, and informing Life Cycle planning.
Produce necessary subject matter reporting and statistics to validate performance, identify risks and opportunities, and demonstrate effective service management.
Identify best practices (internal and external) and recommend business improvement initiatives that reduce cost, improve operating margins, and secure a financial advantage over competitors.
Stakeholder and Supply Chain Management
Act as the point of contact for third-party contractors not under an Authorised Person (AP), including managing the Access to Work (ATW) and Permit to Work (PTW) processes.
Coordinate the supply chain effectively within scope.
Liaise closely with the Asset, Lifecycle, and Projects Teams to ensure seamless operation and support the delivery of Life Cycle project works.
Act as the key contact for the project delivery team, assessing maintenance implications for new projects and non-maintenance activity, and presenting thorough impact assessments to stakeholders over the contract term.
Essential Criteria
5+ Years in Healthcare: Proven managerial experience in an NHS or Hospital PFI hard services environment.
Hold an IWFM Level 3 or greater qualification (or equivalent management certification).
Hold IOSH Managing Safely certification (or equivalent) and possess a clear understanding of COSHH regulations.
Deep knowledge of HTMs, L8 management, maintaining water hygiene compliance, and fire safety regulations within a hospital environment
Experience leading a technical team (circa 12 reports) and managing supplier performance by implementing change management processes to drive efficiency and performance improvement.
Demonstrated P&L responsibility and budgetary control.
Proven history of implementing and maintaining positive and successful client relationships.
Demonstrated competence in using IT systems to effectively gather, analyse, and present performance data.
