Summary

We are looking for self motivated people to join our team to harvesting outdoor rhubarb and husbandry tasks associated with growing strawberries. Over the next few months task would entail:

Jan - April - Forced rhubarb harvest - working in a dark shed harvesting rhubarb and placing it in harvesting trays.

Apr - May - Strawberry husbandry - cleaning off dead leaves from over wintered
plants and also crown thinning.
Strawberry planting - involves laying out new grow bags on table tops
and planting the bag with the new seasons crop
Erecting poly tunnels - Covering the poly tunnel frame with plastic
Apr - Jun - Outdoor rhubarb harvest from our fields - pulling from the root in the ground / cutting the leaf off with a knife and filling harvest trays.
Jun - Sept - Picking strawberries & harvesting rhubarb

Candidates must be:
• Comfortable with repetitive manual handling, able to use safe lifting and bending techniques.
• Energetic and enjoy being outside.
• Enjoy repetitive work, able to stay focused on task and maintain productivity.

Some tasks are paid on a “piece rate” system meaning the more productive you are, the more money you earn. You are expected to keep up to targets given during the day.
Working hours can vary depending on weather and customer demand. Candidates can be expected to start work from as early as 6 am so own transport is a must. Work can be up to 6 days per week.
