Summary


As an Associate Practitioner you will be required to perform ECG’s in line with departmental policies and to work as a supervised practitioner
within the Cardiac Laboratory in a range of diagnostic tests.
Duties will include a range of basic cardiac investigations and it is essential to have completed or be willing to work towards a foundation degree in
Healthcare Science.

The Cardiology Labs offers a wide range of diagnostic proceedures including;
• Full range of non invasive cardiac diagnostics, ECG and ambulatory.
• Echocardiography including TOE, Stress Echo and 3D.
• Physiologist led Tilt Table service.
• Physiologist led exercise service.
• Pacing implants and follow up.
• Cardiac catherisation

• To record ECG’s on the wards, in the department, in outpatients, accident and emergency and in the community.
• To be proficient in ECG interpretation.
• To assist physiologists in Transoesophageal Echocardiography
• To assist in the clinical management of patients undergoing cardiac investigations within the Cardiology Labs
• To assist with Physiologist led Tilt Table service.
• To assist with Physiologist led exercise service.
• Non-complex ambulatory ECG analysis (reports to be countersigned by a Qualified Cardiac physiologist)
