As the Engineering Manager, you will oversee power engineering operations across Essex and surrounding areas, ensuring the highest levels of safety, equipment availability, and technical performance.
A typical day will involve:
• Leading engineering standards across multiple depots and supporting local workshop teams
• Driving a structured repair and maintenance programme for generators and clean-energy battery units
• Implementing reliability improvements, service schedules, and compliance processes
• Managing parts control, warranty recovery, and repair tracking processes
• Developing KPIs and performance dashboards to enhance operational excellence
• Leading investigations into asset failures and working with suppliers on technical resolutions
• Supporting apprenticeships, training, and technical upskilling across the fleet
• Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety and statutory requirements
• Collaborating with regional teams to optimise resource allocation and customer support
This Engineering Manager position requires a strong mix of technical leadership, people management, and hands-on operational expertise within power generation.
About YouTo succeed as an Engineering Manager, you will bring:
• Strong technical knowledge of generators and clean-energy battery systems
• Proven leadership experience within power generation, hire, or similar engineering environments
• Excellent people skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and influence teams
• A track record of managing multi-site engineering operations
• Strong analytical skills with confidence in data-driven decision-making
• IOSH qualification (or willingness to obtain)
• Full UK driving licence
• Ability to work independently, manage changing priorities, and deliver continuous improvement
