Summary
Job Specification – HGV Class 1 Driver (C+E)
Type: Full-time / Floater Contracts also available
Chiltern is looking for a reliable, professional Class 1 HGV Drivers to support our growing logistics operation. This role involves multi-drop deliveries, safe operation of Class 1 vehicles, and representing the Chiltern brand to customers across the region. Tramping is available for drivers who prefer nights-out and longer-distance work.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out Class 1 (C+E) multi-drop deliveries to customers across the UK
Complete vehicle checks and daily defect reporting.
Safely secure and handle all loads, ensuring compliance with company and legal regulations.
Maintain high standards of customer service at all delivery points.
Follow assigned routes and schedules while adapting to changing priorities.
Complete all necessary paperwork and digital logs accurately (PODs, tachograph, etc.).
Comply with all transport legislation, including Working Time Directive and Drivers’ Hours.
Maintain a clean, professional vehicle at all times.
Night-out (tramping) duties available where agreed.
Communicate effectively with transport planners and colleagues.
Requirements:
Essential
Full UK Category C+E (Class 1) driving licence - held for 2 years
Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
Experience in multi-drop or palletised deliveries.
Strong understanding of load security, safety checks, and road transport regulations.
Reliable, punctual, and professional with a positive attitude.
Ability to work independently and adapt to varied delivery schedules.
