- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with special educational needs, adapting learning materials and activities to meet their specific requirements
- Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement personalised learning plans, ensuring each student's unique needs are addressed
- Assist in the preparation and organisation of educational resources, creating engaging and accessible materials that cater to diverse learning styles
- Monitor and record student progress, maintaining accurate records and sharing observations with the teaching team to inform future planning and support strategies
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, promoting social interaction and encouraging students to develop their confidence and independence
- Attend and contribute to meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to stay informed of best practices in SEN education
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience
- Proven experience working with students with special educational needs, preferably in a primary or secondary school setting
- Knowledge of various learning difficulties and disabilities, such as autism spectrum disorder, dyslexia, and ADHD
- Proficiency in using assistive technologies and adaptive equipment to support student learning
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
- A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to working with students of diverse abilities and backgrounds
