Role Purpose
A permanent full-time opportunity has arisen in the Building Standards team for a confident and enthusiastic person to assist in the Authority delivery of the Building Standards service. To manage and develop members of the Building Standards team, process Building Warrant applications in relation to complex and high risk developments and deal with dangerous Buildings, along with providing training and mentoring for team members.
You should hold a BSc in Building Surveying or equivalent, and have membership Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) or equivalent.
The position is based at headquarters in Newtown St. Boswells and the Authority have a flexible home working policy. Meeting with the Building standards team regularly at Council HQ is essential. A driving licence and regular access to a vehicle will therefore be essential.
Essential
BSc in Building Standards or recognised equivalent
Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors [MRICS] or recognised equivalent.
Proven record of relevant CPD training
A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post. * If you have a disability which precludes you from holding a drivers licence, Scottish Borders Council will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability.
