Summary

About the Role

We’re looking for a caring, motivated, and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to join our friendly team at Pitta Patta Daycare. You’ll work in our baby room, providing a nurturing and stimulating environment where every child can thrive and reach their full potential.

Your Key Responsibilities

You’ll focus on five main areas:

Providing outstanding care, learning, and interactions for all children in your room.
Using your knowledge of child development to observe, assess, and plan for each child’s progress.
Building strong attachments with children to ensure they feel safe, understood, and supported.
Developing positive relationships with parents, carers, and colleagues through open communication.
Keeping accurate records of children’s learning, progress, and planning.
General Duties

Deliver high-quality care and learning experiences for children aged 0–4, tailored to their individual needs.
Have a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to assess and plan effectively.
Create exciting, play-based learning opportunities that support rapid development.
Communicate confidently and professionally with parents and carers.
Work collaboratively and flexibly as part of a supportive team.
Commit to ongoing reflection, improvement, and professional development.
Main Responsibilities

Safeguard all children by following Pitta Patta Daycare’s Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy.
Observe and assess children’s learning using Birth to Five or Early Years Outcomes, and plan engaging next steps.
Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
Keep accurate and up-to-date records for key children, sharing progress with parents.
Support learning through children’s interests and individual learning styles.
Work in partnership with parents, ensuring strong communication and shared understanding.
Support colleagues and contribute to a positive, professional team culture.
Attend staff meetings, training days, parent events, and open days.
Take part in ongoing professional development, supervision, and appraisals.
Be flexible and willing to assist with daily nursery routines (e.g. preparing snacks, tidying resources).
Ensure all nursery policies and procedures are followed and consistently implemented.
Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment both indoors and outdoors.
Complete accident/incident reports as required and ensure safe collection procedures are followed.
Respect confidentiality and handle all information sensitively.
Promote an inclusive environment that respects all cultures, backgrounds, and stages of development.
Support and guide others to ensure high standards of care and education are maintained.
Liaise with outside professionals and the Local Authority as needed.
Follow all medication and health & safety procedures correctly.
