A little about myself:
I am a curious and energetic seven-year-old with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). I have a strong interest in technology, especially laptops, mobile phones, and gaming consoles.
I thrive when I feel heard, understood, and included. I love sharing conversations about the things that excite me, and need adults around me to show genuine interest in my passions. I also enjoy going for walks, visiting the local park, and spending one-to-one time with people who give me their full attention.
Driver required to take me out.
Female preferred.
Hours of work
4 hours per week*
*Hours to be worked flexibly over.
Rate of pay
£13.13
Essential
I need you to:
• When in the community I can become distracted, so reminding me about road safety is very important to keep me safe;
• At home I have family dogs, therefore my Personal Assistant would need to feel comfortable around dogs.
Desirable
I’d prefer if:
• You loved technology, as having someone share my interests is important to me;
• Like me, you loved being outside, going into the local Community for walks, and to the park;
• You had previous experience of working with other children who have similar needs to me.
I’d like support with:
• Walking in the Community and playing in the park, as led by me;
• Going to do activities of my choice.
I will need my PA to:
Respect and understand the importance of privacy and confidentiality;
Be confident, mature and have patience;
Be dependable and arrive on time;
Be friendly with an easy-going manner;
Be adaptable and flexible;
Be supportive but not take over;
Support me with my independence;
Have business insurance on your car to take clients out.
Concerning the position
