Summary

Accounts Assistant

SALARY: £19,100 to £23,000 pro rata

LOCATION: Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire (HR9)

JOB TYPE: Part-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 30 hours per week, 4 days per week

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to support the organisation’s financial and reporting functions.

As an Accounts Assistant you will be responsible for processing payments, managing credit and cash transactions, and assisting with statutory reporting and audits.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Accounts Assistant include:

• Purchase to Pay Activities: Support purchase ledger and supplier payment processes

• Order to Cash Tasks: Assist with customer invoicing, credit control and cash allocation

• External Reporting: Provide financial information to statutory bodies including HMRC and Companies House

• Audit Assistance: Support annual and interim audits and other audit requirements

• Financial Enquiries: Respond to internal and external accounting queries promptly and accurately

• Year-End Reporting: Assist with year-end and ad-hoc financial reporting tasks

• System Use: Work effectively with SAP and MS Office applications

• Administrative Support: Provide general administrative assistance within the finance department

• Team Support: Cover for colleagues and contribute to departmental efficiency


CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Self-motivated with a positive, professional attitude and a focus on quality outcomes

• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills

• Experience in credit control, purchase ledger or similar finance support roles would be advantageous

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively

• Competent user of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook

• Previous working knowledge of SAP desirable

• A collaborative team player with good communication and interpersonal skills
