Summary

Depot Manager – Home Delivery
Hours: Core hours 09:00 – 17:30, Monday–Friday, with flexibility depending on depot needs
Salary: £40,000 p.a.
Location: Swindon

The Role

- Lead day-to-day depot operations, ensuring on-time and compliant deliveries
- Manage and motivate drivers, warehouse and admin teams to achieve KPIs
- Oversee a 15+ vehicle fleet, ensuring full DVSA, tachograph and safety compliance
- Take responsibility for recruitment, development and performance management
- Drive operational efficiency through process improvement and data analysis
- Maintain strong communication with senior leadership teams
- Foster a positive safety culture and uphold high customer service standards
- Manage costs, budgets and productivity across all depot functions


Our Ideal Candidate
It goes without saying that, as our ideal candidate, you’ll have experience within transport or home delivery and have a CPC qualification. You’ll be an excellent communicator, calm under pressure and confident in decision-making
You’ll also have:

- Strong leadership and coaching skills – able to inspire and engage teams
- A deep understanding of fleet compliance, health & safety and delivery operations
- An analytical and process-driven approach to operational improvement

It’s a bonus if you also have experience within two-man delivery or large item logistics, with a background in retail.
