North Lanarkshire Council is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Football Development Officer to lead and deliver a range of football and sports programmes across the region.
Reporting to the Senior Sports Development & Participation Officer, you will oversee NLC’s sports initiatives including direct debit weekly programmes, diversionary projects, sports camps, and the School of Football at Braidhurst High School.
You will manage part-time and casual coaches within the Sports Development section and act as a role model to staff, driving innovation and growth in the service. Your remit will include coordinating and implementing football projects through schools, clubs, and the wider community, while promoting both the national and regional objectives of the Scottish Football Association and the local aims of North Lanarkshire Council.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in sports development, with a proven ability to attract football programmes and events to North Lanarkshire. You will hold a UEFA A or B Licence, or a Scottish FA Youth Licence or Advanced Children’s Licence with ‘C’ Licence and possess a strong understanding of sports development across multiple disciplines.
You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member through Disclosure Scotland and obtain a satisfactory membership check prior to commencing in this role.
This post is temporary for up to one year.
Work Pattern – 35 Hours
35 hours over 7 days a week. Core working hours are Monday - Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm.
