Buyer Opportunity
My client is a long-established, building services engineering contractor. On the back off continued project wins across major UK construction schemes, including large-scale Ministry of Justice projects, the company are now seeking a Buyer. Working as part of a team of 17, you'll play a key role in supporting materials procurement and supply chain coordination across multiple live sites.
As a Buyer, you will take responsibility for:
- Supporting the procurement and supply of materials and plant for multiple construction projects.
- Raising and managing purchase orders, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to site.
- Assisting with invoice processing and resolving any related queries.
- Building strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to maintain a reliable supply chain.
- Liaising closely with project teams to anticipate material needs and address on-site challenges.
- Maintaining accurate records and assisting with procurement reports and cost tracking.
Buyer Requirements:
- Previous experience in a procurement, supply chain, or buying role within construction or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of materials procurement processes.
- Proven ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Good attention to detail with strong organisational and administrative abilities.
- Confidence in working closely with site teams and exposure to live project environments.
- IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office and procurement systems.
Other Desirable skills include:
- Relevant training / qualifications or willingness to acquire them
- Experience with plant procurement would be advantageous.
