⚡️ Electrical Engineering Manager (High Voltage Expertise Required)
Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer ready to step into a senior management role and drive energy reduction and sustainability initiatives?
An established leader in the heavy materials/continuous process industry is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineering Manager to oversee all electrical operations at a major manufacturing site near Stamford, Lincolnshire. This is a critical leadership role for an individual committed to excellence in engineering standards, project delivery, and team development.
Key Responsibilities & Focus Areas
You will be responsible for ensuring the maximum availability and reliability of all electrical systems while leading a skilled electrical team and managing key capital projects.

Engineering Standards & Compliance: Set, provide, and maintain excellence in electrical engineering standards. Ensure strict compliance with all relevant regulations, including the Electricity at Work Regulations (1989) and IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

High Voltage (HV) & Low Voltage (LV) Systems:

Manage and maintain HV and LV switchgear, cables, and transformer inspection/test regimes.

Expertise in fault level analysis, specifying protection (fuses, feeder overcurrent, transformer protection), and conducting harmonic analysis.

Must be authorised to the level of Senior Authorised Person (SAP) for HV/LV systems.

Drive Systems & Motors: Design, specify, and implement AC/DC motor installations, including selection of starting arrangements (slip ring, squirrel cage) and Variable Speed Drive (VSD) technologies.

Instrumentation & Control: Oversee process instrumentation, calibration, and maintain PLC (e.g., Siemens S7) and SCADA systems. Design and implement safety-critical control systems and apply HAZOP risk modelling.

Project Management: Lead capital projects from conception to handover, delivering on time and within budget. Focus on projects that increase plant efficiency and reduce energy consumption.

Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the site electrical team, including the Electrical Supervisor, Electricians, and Apprentices.

Budget & Systems: Provide direct input to maintenance budget planning and maintain full conversance with a SAP PM system.
Qualifications & Experience (Essential)

Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is required, supplemented by an HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in an electrical engineering department within a continuous process industry (e.g., cement, aggregates, chemicals, mining, steel).

Technical Expertise:

Expert knowledge of LV/HV installations, drive systems, and control systems.

Proven experience in analysis and forecasting of site electrical demand.

Safety: NEBOSH qualification or equivalent.

Systems: Proficiency in SAP PM system.

Skills: Strong project management and cross-functional understanding of mechanical issues.

Basic Salary: £68,000

Total Expected Earnings: Basic salary plus performance-related bonuses will take your total earnings to circa £80,000.
