Summary
Do you dream of trading the bustle of the city for island life - fresh sea air, wide open spaces, and a close knit community? This could be your chance.
We are looking for a Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team on the Isle of Islay, a stunning Hebridean island know for its wild beauty, whiskey distilleries, and incredible local produce. This role is ideal for a chef who wants to develop their craft while enjoying a lifestyle rooted in nature and community.
A role that offers:
Competitive salary between £27,000 to £29,000
Live-in accommodation provided at no rent (you'll only cover utilities)
Weekly changing rota for a healthy work-life balance
Internal/company discounts for you and your family
The chance to work with the very best locally sourced ingredients, from seafood fresh off the boat to seasonal game and island grown produce
A relaxed rural lifestyle with endless opportunities for walking, cycling, wildlife-spotting, and discovering the natural beauty of Islay
You need to be:
Experienced as a Chef de Partie (or ready to step up) within a similar style of venue, ideally with a background in high-quality dining
Passionate about fresh and locally sourced ingredients - you'll be cooking with produce that truly reflects the island
Adaptable to living in a remote location. Island life comes with its quirks, but the rewards are worth it
Confident assisting the Head Chef in the daily running of the brigade, ensuring smooth service and maintaining high standards
Keen to mentor junior members of the kitchen, helping to nurture and develop emerging talent
Able to demonstrate a track record of longevity and professional development, showing commitment and reliability in your career.
This position is more than just a job, it's a lifestyle. If you're ready to swap traffic for tranquility, and long commutes for coastal walks, this is a unique opportunity to grow as a chef while experiencing the best of island living.
