Summary

Job Title:
Qualified Electrician

Reports To:
Property Compliance Lead / Maintenance Manager

Purpose of Role:
To deliver safe, compliant, and efficient electrical services across residential and supported accommodation properties, ensuring all work meets BS 7671 Wiring Regulations and trauma-informed housing standards.

Key Responsibilities
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including lighting, sockets, consumer units, and heating controls
• Diagnose faults and perform testing, using appropriate tools and equipment
• Ensure compliance with the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and HMO licensing standards
• Conduct Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and remedial works
• Upgrade systems to meet energy efficiency and smart technology standards
• Respond to emergency call-outs, including power failures and safety hazards
• Document all work using fillable compliance templates and digital logs
• Respect tenant privacy and wellbeing, applying trauma-informed approaches during visits

Essential Skills & Qualifications
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
18th Edition BS 7671; ECS/CSCS card
Minimum 3–5 years in domestic/commercial electrical work
Fault diagnosis, circuit design, compliance awareness, record-keeping
Work Environment
• Mobile across Birmingham and surrounding areas
• May involve working in occupied properties with vulnerable individuals
• PPE and safeguarding protocols must be followed
• Flexible hours including occasional evenings/weekends for emergencies

Compliance & Governance
• All work must align with Property Maintenance’s risk register, property compliance framework, and trauma-informed practice standards
• Electricians must complete onboarding checklists, site-specific induction, and incident reporting protocols
