Summary

A General Labourer is responsible for performing a variety of manual tasks to support the day-to-day operations of a worksite or facility. This role involves assisting skilled tradespeople, preparing and maintaining work areas, moving materials, operating basic tools and equipment, and ensuring that the site remains safe and organized.

General Labourers play a key role in helping projects run smoothly by providing physical labour and practical support wherever needed. The work can vary depending on the industry—such as construction, manufacturing, warehousing, or landscaping—but generally involves hands-on tasks that require strength, stamina, and attention to safety.

Typical Duties

Loading, unloading, and transporting materials or equipment.

Assisting trades and machine operators as required.

Cleaning and preparing work areas for projects or production.

Operating hand tools and basic machinery safely.

Following safety procedures and reporting hazards or incidents.

Performing general site maintenance and cleanup.

Supporting team members to ensure efficient workflow.
