We are looking to recruit a 42.5-hour Qualified Checking Technician to work at our 199-branch located at Head office, Cohens Group, Lynstock House, Lynstock Way, Lostock, Bolton, BL6 4SA.
The proposed shift pattern is:
Monday 06:00-15:00 (30 minutes unpaid lunch break)
Tuesday 06:00-15:00 (30 minutes unpaid lunch break)
Wednesday 06:00-15:00 (30 minutes unpaid lunch break)
Thursday 06:00-15:00 (30 minutes unpaid lunch break)
Friday 06:00-15:00 (30 minutes unpaid lunch break)
Our Hub Dispensing operation is a structured and production-based environment to help support the network of branches by assembling Monitored Dosage Systems (MDS).
Brief Role Description
As an Accuracy Checker you will enhance the pharmaceutical care of the patient by providing essential safety checking functions on dispensed items produced by the Hub’s state of the art MDS packing machines.
Purpose Of Role
Provide essential safety checks on deblistered stock, prescriptions submitted by network and dispensed MDS trays
Establish relationships with colleague, customers and wider head office staff
Assist with delivering a variety of pharmacy services where possible
Be a predominant role in the dispensing and quality control process
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the accurate dispensing of medicines using the Hub’s MDS dispensing equipment
Carry out accuracy checks of MDS pack in line with current quality control processes within the Hub
Be responsible for ensuring accurate stock control
Contribute to and monitor adherence with patient safety measures in place throughout the hub operation to reduce the chance of errors occurring
Continually provide a consistent high level of customer service to the spoke branches utilising the hub
Support the Pharmacist/Production Manager in the induction and training of new dispensary staff
Have a due regard to Health and Safety for yourself, your colleagues and customers
Contribute to the general housekeeping of the Hub
Be compliant with Company policy on the security of drugs and the workplace
Adhere to the standards and procedures set out in the Company procedure manual
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualification Required
Essential
Buttercups (or equivalent) Accuracy Checking Qualification for Dispensers
NVQ 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years dispensing experience
Have a clear interest in medicine and science
Ability to work as part of a team and provide support to other colleagues
React quickly to customer needs to ensure smooth running of branch and demonstrate excellent customer service skills
Be able to deal with challenging customers and situations in a calm and controlled manner
High attention to detail
Be a team player
Be a highly motivated member of the dispensary
Desirable
Able to recommend process improvements
Customer service training
Previous production quality control experience
