Position: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Crookhey Hall School, Cockerham, Lancaster, LA2 0HA
Salary: £22,160.62 per annum (not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only
Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm

Start date: December 2025

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and caring Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated team. This is a truly rewarding opportunity to help pupils with a range of learning and behavioural needs reach their full potential in a nurturing and positive environment.

About the Role

Crookhey Hall School is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to work alongside teachers in delivering high-quality education to small groups. LSAs play a vital role in classroom support, behaviour management, and helping pupils access a broad and balanced curriculum.

What You’ll Do

Support pupils 1:1 or in small groups to help them engage and succeed in lessons
Assist teachers across a range of subjects and classroom activities
Prepare engaging resources and displays to enhance learning
Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and self-esteem
Supervise and support pupils during breaks, lunchtimes, and transitions
Help maintain a purposeful, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment
Attend training and staff meetings to share ideas and grow your skills
What We’re Looking For

You’ll be someone who is:

Passionate about helping young people achieve their potential
Patient, resilient, and calm under pressure
A strong communicator and team player
Adaptable, positive, and ready to learn
In possession of a full UK driving licence
Essential:

GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C / 4 or above)
Basic IT skills and confidence using digital tools
High expectations of pupil behaviour and achievement
Desirable:

Experience in education, care, or support work
Qualifications in Childcare, Education, or Social Care
Experience supporting pupils with Autism or SEMH
