About You:
Caister Academy is seeking a passionate and proactive individual with a strong foundation in supporting literacy development. You will have experience delivering reading interventions - both one-to-one and in small groups - tailored to meet the needs of learners at various stages. Your understanding of strategies to boost reading fluency, comprehension, and confidence will be central to your role in raising achievement. Experience with numeracy support is also valuable, and familiarity with platforms such as Bedrock is desirable, though not essential. Above all, you are committed to helping students thrive, including those with English as an Additional Language, and bring warmth, adaptability, and a drive to make a meaningful impact.
Our Ideal candidate will have:
• GCSE English and Maths, Grade 3 or equivalent
• Proven experience of working in an educational setting
• Ability to use initiative and apply sound decision-making
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

About the Intervention Team:
Our Intervention Team is a dynamic and supportive network committed to helping pupils re-engage with learning and thrive in the classroom. Led by our Director of Intervention, the team includes our Librarian who also serves as the EAL Lead, and our dedicated Literacy Coordinator. Together, they deliver targeted, positive interventions designed to boost confidence, close learning gaps, and prepare students to return to lessons with renewed momentum. Pupils benefit from a joined-up approach, receiving continued support from the Literacy Coordinator within their regular classes, ensuring consistency and progress beyond the intervention space.
