About the Post

We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join our support staff team at Christchurch Infant School.

We are looking for an outstanding individual who will relish the opportunity to:

• Provide a magical experience for our children
• Develop, maintain and apply knowledge and understanding of students’ general and specific learning needs. To ensure that support is given to them at an appropriate level.
• Seek to ensure the promotion and reinforcement of students’ self-esteem, appropriate levels of effort and behaviour and to guide students to become independent learners.
• Supervise and assist pupils during their midday break and to ensure their safety, welfare and general conduct. To assist in the setting up and removal of furniture where necessary.


• Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding and Child Protection policies.
• Who we are looking for
• We would love to hear from you if you:


• Have experience of working with children in an educational setting and an ability to relate to, and support, children in and out of the classroom - especially those who have additional or special educational needs
• Hold GCSEs at Grade C or above in English, Mathematics and Science, or NVQ level 2 or 3 / BTEC in Learning Support, or equivalent qualifications
• Have a good understanding of how children learn and are able to meet individual or group needs with creativity and innovation, evaluate their progress and feedback to teaching staff
• Are flexibile and will work well as part of a team, withdiscretion, loyalty, commitment, patience and firmness. Strong oral communication skills
• Are self-motivated and organised and ability to use own time effectively
• Are able to maintain safe working practices
• Are committed to your own continuous professional development/learning

Working hours

27.5 hours per week, comprised of:

Teaching Assistant - 25 hours per week

(Mon-Fri 8.50am to noon and 1.15pm to 3.05pm)

Plus

Midday Supervisor – 2.5 hours per week

(Mon-Fri Noon to 12.30pm or 12.45pm to 1.15pm)

Weeks per year

School term-times, Trust Training Days and one INSET day per year

Teaching Assistant - Grade 5

Midday Supervisor – Grade 1

Salary range

(per annum)

£14,564 to £14,796 (TA)

£1,390 (Midday Supervisor)

£15,954 to £16,168 (in total)
