Salary - £13,865 per annumHours - 21 hours per week, Contract - PermanentLocation - PeterboroughClosing Date - 25th November 2025Do you love working with animals and want to help inspire the next generation of animal care professionals?We’re looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Animal Care Technician to join our friendly team at Peterborough College.This is an exciting opportunity for someone who’s passionate about animal welfare, enjoys hands-on work, and takes pride in creating a safe and stimulating environment for both animals and students.You’ll play a key role in maintaining our animal care facilities and supporting learners as they gain valuable practical experience with a wide variety of species.What you’ll doProvide daily care and husbandry for a range of animalsSupervise and support students undertaking practical activitiesAssist lecturers in preparing and running animal care sessionsMaintain stock levels, equipment and facilities to a high standardEnsure the animal units remain clean, safe and well-organisedSupport weekend feeding duties on a rota basisPromote good health, safety and welfare practices at all timesAbout youWe’d love to hear from you if you have:A Level 3 qualification in Animal Care or Management (or equivalent)Experience working with a variety of animalsA caring, practical, and proactive approach to animal welfareStrong teamwork, organisation, and communication skillsA genuine interest in supporting students in their learningExperience ordering stock or completing maintenance tasks would be a bonus, but full training and support will be provided.Why join us?At Peterborough College, part of the Inspire Education Group (IEG), you’ll be part of a supportive and passionate team that values hands-on learning and animal welfare.
