The service wish to recruit a Consultant Psychiatrist with considerable experience in the assessment and treatment of eating disorders in our Manchester eating disorder team. This post is based in a community setting at Gaskell House in close proximity to the Manchester Royal Infirmary site.

· Undertake joint assessments of referrals/admissions to the service where direct Consultant input required.

· Diagnose and formulate management plans in complex presentations and for CAMHS transfers of care where indicated.

· Provide assessment and management in complex and co-morbid presentations e.g. patients with physical or learning disabilities.

· Assessment and management of risk including of vulnerability, suicide risk, risks to health and safety and risk of harm to others.

· Investigations and interpretations of results and liaison with GPs and acute specialisms where required.

· Prescription and titration of medications within a defined Shared Care Protocol or to closely advise General Practitioners where this is not agreed.

· The Consultant will provide defined clinical supervision to specific team members or as part of the MDT.

· Work in a collaborative way with the multidisciplinary teams.

· Active participation in referral/liaison meetings and internal MDT meetings and attend discharge planning meetings for a small, selected group of patients.

· To carry a small of caseload of monitoring and stability patients who have longstanding eating disorders.

· To provide clinical advice and liaison as required to colleagues in primary care,community services and acute specialties within the time constraints and capacity of the allocated Direct Clinical Programmed Activities.
