Summary
Phlebotomy: Perform venipuncture (blood drawing) efficiently and safely, ensuring correct labelling and preparation of samples. Physiological Measurements: Perform and record routine Blood Pressure (BP) checks, and measure/calculate height, weight, and Body Mass Index (BMI). Electrocardiograms (ECGs): Accurately perform and record 12-lead ECGs as requested by clinicians. Urine Testing: Collect and test urine samples and record findings. Assisting Clinicians: Provide direct support to Practice Nurses and GPs during minor procedures, ensuring rooms are stocked and prepared. QOF and BQC Support: Actively assist with work relating to the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and Better Quality Care (BQC) targets, including patient recalls and preventative health checks for chronic disease patients. Clinical Coding: Accurately and promptly enter clinical data and appropriate SNOMED codes into the electronic patient record system. Stock Management: Monitor and maintain stock levels of clinical supplies. Decontamination: Ensure all clinical rooms and equipment surfaces are cleaned, prepared, and decontaminated between patients. Waste Disposal: Safely manage and dispose of clinical waste, including sharps, in line with established procedures.
