Summary

Responsible for: overseeing daily operations of the service
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Assurance Officer to oversee and improve the quality of care provided in our domiciliary care service. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, conducting assessments, and implementing quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct regular spot checks on care delivery to ensure high standards are maintained
• Perform competence assessments of care staff to identify areas for improvement
• Complete service user reviews to ensure care plans meet individual needs
• Work out of hours as required to monitor care quality across all shifts
• Prepare and submit detailed reports on quality assurance activities and findings
• Provide training to carers on best practices and regulatory requirements
• Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives
• Liaise with regulatory bodies during inspections and audits
• Investigate and respond to complaints or incidents
• Monitor and analyse key performance indicators related to care quality
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality assurance documentation
Essential Requirements:
• Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
• Minimum of 2 years experience in domiciliary care or related field
• Strong understanding of CQC regulations and standards
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in report writing and data analysis
• Ability to work oncall hours once a month
• Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• Must have be a driver and have access to a car
Preferred Qualifications:
• Relevant qualification in health and social care (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or above or willing to complete it whin 1 year)
• Experience in quality assurance or auditing within a care setting
• Training or teaching experience
• Knowledge of risk assessment and management in care settings
