Summary


Are you looking for a Band 7 role specialising in acute stroke + neurology? We have an opportunity for a fixed 12 month post to cover maternity leave on our Acute Stroke Unit at Barnet Hospital.

We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated and flexible in their approach, and who is able to demonstrate excellent clinical leadership in the assessment and management of neurological patients. You will be joining a friendly, well-established integrated therapy team, working alongside experienced colleagues and supported by a Band 8a Clinical Lead.

You must be able to demonstrate strong evidence-based clinical knowledge and skills within the specialty of stroke and neurology.

You will be responsible for the day to day running of the inpatient acute stroke service and team alongside the Clinical Specialist Physio lead. This will involve:

- providing specialist assessment and intervention to a varied stroke + neurological caseload

- ensuring high quality patient-centred care

- leading and supervising the learning and development of the outlier therapy team

- providing training to therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team

- participating in the neurological therapy team's 6 day service

You will play a key part in supporting the stroke service to achieve RCP + SSNAP standards, working closely with other therapy specialties and stakeholders. This will include involvement in developing and implementing Quality Improvement initiatives to enhance patient care + experience, including implementation of new and novel approaches to supporting therapy intensity standards. Alongside QI, you will have an opportunity to be involved in research and development on the stroke unit.

The team has strong links with community and rehabilitation services across North Central London, and are actively engaged with the Stroke network .

The Therapies Team are passionate about developing and delivering a world class care service, and will provide training and development opportunities, including supervision and appraisal, to ensure you are supported in your role. There is a strong education ethos with an in-service training programme, supervision and opportunities to attend other in-house / external training relevant to the role.
