Shared Regulatory Services is a collaborative service hosted by the Vale of Glamorgan Council delivering environmental health, trading standards and licensing functions across Bridgend, Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. Our regulatory role ensures that the food we eat is safe, noise and air pollution is controlled, housing standards in the private sector are improved, and communities are protected from harmful products, unscrupulous traders and scams alongside many other regulatory functions. All of which aim to protect the health, safety and economic well-being of residents and businesses.

The Business Support Team is a small dedicated team working across all three areas providing vital administrative support to the various teams within the service.

About the role
Pay Details: Grade 4 £25,583 - £26,403
Hours of Work / Working Pattern: Full time 37 hours per week / 7.24 hours per day
Main Place of Work: Cardiff County Hall but may be required to work from office locations in Bridgend and Vale of Glamorgan.
Temporary Reason: To provide additional support to the team due to increased demands.

Description:
As a Support Officer you will play a key role in supporting our multi-disciplinary regulatory service working closely with regulatory officers and service users helping maintain high standards of service delivery.

Within the role you will provide administrative support including data entry and corresponding with service users and teams, monitoring service inboxes and responding accordingly, transcribing interviews under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE), copying, scanning and document management, maintaining accurate records and databases and preparing reports, letters and documentation.

About you
You will need:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced administrator who enjoys working as part of a busy team. You should be able to work under pressure, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.

The successful candidate will have a high standard of communication skills, IT competency, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and a broad range of administrative skills including working with databases.
