Summary

West Norfolk Academies Trust are seeking a Senior Finance Officer (Temporary Maternity Cover) based at Springwood High School, to assist with managing and controlling the school’s financial resources and to ensure that records are kept in a manner which satisfies the requirements of accountability, audit & financial control.

Responsibilities, but not limited to:

· Oversee daily transactions recorded by Finance Officer/Finance Assistants and ensure they have been correctly processed. Arrange any corrections where necessary.

· Provide help/guidance with daily processing queries raised by Finance staff and budget holders

· Ensure that all payments are made promptly and highlight/investigate/resolve any overdue payments in conjunction with the schools Finance Officer.

· Direct and support all budget holders and finance staff in their procurement needs where appropriate ensuring procedures are explained and followed.

· Review and highlight any errors/omissions/oversights on the outstanding commitments record.

· Produce, as directed, ad hoc reports/excel spreadsheets as required.

· Ensure all debtors and creditors are monitored and any overdue are followed up via the relevant Finance Officer.

· Carry out a periodic reconciliation of all bank accounts (minimum weekly) ensuring all transactions have been posted at month end.

· Ensure all invoices have been raised each month in respect of lettings, nursery fees, rentals etc.

· Produce Budget reports where necessary.

· Complete month end procedures

· Ensure compliance with the Academies financial administration and accounting procedures, in accordance with the financial scheme of delegation.
