Summary

Our client, a respected educational institution in Brixham, Devon, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Part-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing individualised support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring they have equal opportunities to thrive academically and socially. This position offers a competitive salary range of £105 to £115 per day, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for working with children and young people with diverse learning needs, coupled with a strong understanding of SEN best practices. They will collaborate closely with the SEN Coordinator (SENCo) and other teaching staff to develop and implement personalised learning plans that cater to each student's unique requirements. The SEN Teaching Assistant will be responsible for adapting lesson materials, providing one-on-one support during class activities, and facilitating small group sessions to reinforce learning objectives.

To excel in this role, the successful applicant should demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as they will regularly liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support. They should be patient, empathetic, and skilled at building positive relationships with students who may face challenges in their learning journey. The ability to maintain accurate records, track student progress, and contribute to relevant meetings and discussions is also essential.
