Summary
Pre-School Deputy Room Leader – Outstanding Nursery – Finchley Central
Salary: £28,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Full Time – 40 hours per week
Location: Finchley Central, North London
Qualification Required: Level 3 in Childcare and Education (or equivalent)
VD Recruitment is delighted to partner with a fun, friendly and Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ nursery in Finchley Central to appoint a passionate and dedicated Pre-School Deputy Room Leader.
We are looking for an experienced Level 3 Nursery Practitioner or a current Senior Practitioner ready to take the next step in their childcare career. You’ll be part of a supportive, dynamic team that truly values professional development and delivers exceptional early years education.
Key Responsibilities as a Deputy Room Leader, you will:
Support and inspire children’s learning and development using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Plan, observe, and assess children’s progress, keeping accurate records.
Ensure high standards of safeguarding, health, and safety at all times.
Work closely with parents, providing regular updates on their child’s progress.
Assist with meal and snack times.
Supervise and motivate room staff, supporting their ongoing development.
Liaise with external professionals when required.
Candidate Requirements
Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Education (or equivalent).
Strong understanding and practical knowledge of the EYFS framework.
A recent Paediatric First Aid qualification (preferred – nursery is Millie’s Mark accredited).
Sound knowledge of safeguarding practices and child protection.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Genuine passion for providing high-quality childcare and education.
