Job Description: Casual Cover Supervisor (Qualified)

Location:Aldridge School, Walsall, West MidlandsSalary:£25 – £30.59 per hour + holiday pay (depending on qualifications and experience)Responsible to:Cover ManagerContract:Casual (hours vary as needed)

Main Purpose of the Role

To supervise classes during short-term teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task and follow the work set by teaching staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise classes in the absence of teachers.
• Ensure students complete the work provided and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Support students with questions about the work set.
• Report back to teachers on student progress and behaviour.
• Uphold the school’s safeguarding and child protection policies at all times.

Person Specification

Essential:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
• Reliable, flexible, and able to work at short notice.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
