Role Overview
They are seeking a passionate Youth Worker / Sports Coach to join the team. The person in this role will design and deliver sporting programmes, support young people, and promote a healthy, active lifestyle. You will help shape sessions, engage participants of varying ages, and contribute to community development through sport.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver training programmes tailored to individuals and teams.
- Lead practice sessions focusing on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Organise and support competitions, ensuring logistics and safety are in place.
- Create an encouraging and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Maintain open communication with participants, parents, and stakeholders regarding progress, schedules, and concerns.
- Monitor and report on attendance, development, and feedback.
- Work flexibly including evenings and weekends as required.
Requirements and Skills:
- Experience in sports coaching, teaching, or youth work is desirable but not essential.
- Good knowledge of one or more sports (rules, techniques, strategies).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with young people and parents.
- A genuine passion for sport and community engagement.
- Ability to work flexibly (evenings, weekends).
- Relevant coaching qualifications or certifications are a plus.
- Valid safeguarding certification is beneficial.
