Senior Finance Assistant
Gloucester, Gloucestershire (with hybrid working – Wednesdays and Thursdays worked from our office)
Salary of £30,000 - £35,000 per annum pro rata (£24,000 - £28,000 per annum for 30 hours per week).

To be considered as our Senior Finance Assistant, you will need:
- To be AAT qualified or in your final year of study
- Excellent working knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables, reporting, and analysis
- The ability to work collaboratively and support team members effectively
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving

What the role involves
As our Senior Finance Assistant, you’ll support the smooth and accurate running of our financial operations.
Aiding the Assistant Financial Controller, you’ll take shared ownership of key financial processes, from bank reconciliations and VAT returns to payroll and month-end reporting.
With a keen eye for detail, you’ll help maintain accurate records, support year-end activities, and ensure compliance with company and statutory requirements.
You’ll also contribute to the continuous improvement of financial systems and provide day-to-day guidance to Finance Assistants as they develop within their roles.
Additionally, you will:
- Manage time and materials invoicing, fixed asset registers, and credit card statements
- Conduct annual fixed asset checks and assist with year-end financial processes
- Prepare VAT journals, quarterly VAT returns, and monthly ONS reports
- Oversee payroll cycles for several months of the year
