Summary

Chelmsford City Council operates four leisure centres across the city, offering a wide range of sport and leisure activities for all ages. During the school holidays, we run City Camps; a fun-filled, engaging camp, designed to introduce children to exciting new activities in a safe and supportive environment. We also offer various parties across our sites for similar ages to our camps.

Chelmsford City Council is looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to assist our City Camps Leaders with the delivery of our camps during the school holidays at South Woodham Ferrers Leisure Centre, and to act as party hosts delivering a first-class experience for all party participants.

Activities Assistants will assist the City Camps Leader in delivering a variety of fun, active, and inclusive sessions for children aged 4–7 and 8–12. The successful applicant will help create a safe and engaging environment where every child feels encouraged, supported, and excited to take part.

We’re looking for individuals who are passionate about working with children and helping them thrive, have confident communication and excellent customer service skills, along with the ability to tailor activities to suit a variety of ages, abilities, and interests.

Join us and become part of a dynamic and supportive team where you'll gain valuable experience in childcare, coaching, and leisure services. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in children's holiday experiences.

This post is offered on a casual basis and the successful applicants will be required to work during the school holidays for City camp, and throughout the year at weekends for parties.

Please note should sufficient applications be received prior to the closing date, we may close the role for applications early.

Chelmsford City Council is committed to safeguarding vulnerable groups and expects all employees to share this commitment and have a range of policies and procedures in place which promote safeguarding and safer working practices across our services.
