Your duties as a Vehicle MET/Strip Fit Technician:

- Remove damaged parts to facilitate repairs, ensuring safe and correct storage for refitting
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify additional damage or required parts, liaising with the Vehicle Damage Assessor and ordering parts as needed
- Verify all parts are present, correct, and fit for purpose to ensure a smooth repair process
- Refit the vehicle after repairs and painting, taking care to avoid damage to freshly painted panels and ensuring panels' gaps are within manufacturer tolerances
- Replace mechanical components such as steering, drivetrain, or engine parts when necessary
- Reset vehicle Control Units using diagnostic tools
- Maintain health and safety standards in line with legislation and internal policies, participating in regular safety training
- Ensure tools and equipment are well-maintained and functional
- Perform additional tasks as required to support workshop operations

Requirements:

- Recognised qualification in automotive MET/vehicle body repair, or working towards an IMI qualification; however, strong candidates without formal qualifications but with proven experience in vehicle body repair/strip and fit will also be considered
- Proven track record in vehicle body repairs or mechanical component replacement
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
- Ability to work independently while supporting colleagues and managing multiple tasks during busy periods
- UK driving licence with minimal points is essential
- Strong attention to detail, with a focus on quality and safety
