The role:
Our client is seeking a Local Taxation Officer to join their Financial Services team. The postholder will support the billing and collection of Council Tax and Business Rates, ensuring compliance with legislation and delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and maintain accurate local taxation records
Administer discounts, exemptions, and reliefs
Respond to customer enquiries promptly and professionally
Support revenue collection targets and cross-departmental collaboration
What the client is looking for:
Educated to GCSE level (including Maths & English)
Experience in finance, debt recovery, or local taxation
Strong communication and organisational skills
Confident using MS 365 and financial software
Knowledge of Council Tax and Business Rates systems desirable
