Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

The Governance Professional will play a central role in ensuring the highest standards of governance across the Trust. This postholder will lead governance activity for the Trust, supporting the Trust Board, its committees, and Local Governing Committees, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. The role will also maintain excellent relationships with the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton and promote the distinctive Catholic ethos of the Trust.

About the Role:

As Trust Governance Professional, you will:

• Lead and coordinate governance activities across the Trust.
• Provide expert support to the Trust Board, its committees, and Local Governing Committees.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory governance requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton, aligning governance with our Trust’s Catholic mission and values.
• Champion the distinctive Catholic ethos of the Trust through your work and professional conduct.

What We’re Looking For:

We’re looking for an experienced and proactive individual with:

• Strong knowledge of governance frameworks in the education or charitable sector.
• A deep understanding of compliance, regulation, and best practice in governance.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• A commitment to the Catholic ethos and the mission of Catholic education.
• The ability to build productive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

Reports To: Chief Finance and Operations Officer.
