About the role
We’re seeking a reliable, skilled Handyperson to maintain a client site in Kettering. You’ll be responsible for day-to-day upkeep of buildings and grounds, completing general repairs, light installations and routine grounds maintenance so the site remains safe, tidy and fully operational.
Key responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and light repairs to buildings, fixtures and fittings.
- Complete basic painting, filling gaps and sealing cracks on walls, walkways and similar surfaces.
- Undertake light carpentry and installation work (e.g., shelving, cabinets, door adjustments).
- Carry out routine landscaping and grounds upkeep (mowing, edging, weeding, seasonal tasks).
- Assist external tradespeople when needed.
- Diagnose and repair basic equipment or appliance faults.
- Respond to assigned tasks and site emergencies (for example snow clearance).
- Inspect the site regularly and report any major repair needs or safety hazards.
Person specification
- Proven experience working as a handyperson or in a similar multi-skilled maintenance role.
- Competent with hand and power tools and basic electrical equipment.
- Good problem-solving skills, organised and able to manage time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to site safety and upkeep.
- Good verbal communication skills and able to work independently.
- Numeracy sufficient for basic measurements and materials estimates.
