Your New Role
This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to support the legal function in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment. Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel, you'll be the team's first paralegal and a trusted contributor across a wide range of legal and business initiatives. You'll work closely with departments including sales, marketing, HR, procurement, and engineering, providing legal support that enables strategic decision-making and risk management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts, NDAs, and supply agreements
- Providing practical legal advice across the business
- Supporting contract and records management in line with UK GDPR
- Assisting with dispute resolution and legal risk mitigation
- Contributing to ESG and sustainability initiatives
- Developing legal training materials and guidance for non-legal colleagues
- Supporting special projects and cross-functional collaboration

What You'll Need to Succeed
Essential:
- Law degree or equivalent legal qualification
- Previous paralegal experience
- Strong understanding of UK contract law, especially commercial agreements
- Excellent drafting, research, and communication skills
- Confidence in negotiating and advising across all levels of the business
- Ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines
- Collaborative mindset and attention to detail
Desirable:
- In-house legal experience, ideally in a high-growth or project-driven environment
- Sector experience in renewable energy, construction, manufacturing, or engineering
- Familiarity with ESG principles and sustainability in commercial contracting
- Experience in scaling businesses where innovation and pragmatism are key
