Summary
We're seeking a proactive Independent Living Officer to join our social housing client's team on an ongoing, temporary basis until at least March 2026, with temp to perm opportunities available. Our client are flexible on working hours, but will require a minimum of 30 per week, and start times must be 9am.
You'll act as the key point of contact for residents, visitors and stakeholders within the Independent Living Scheme, providing a housing management service to ensure customers are able to maintain their tenancies in a safe and secure property.
Key responsibilities:
- Daily contact with residents based on individual support plans
- Conducting health and safety checks, raising repair orders, coordinating contractors and maintaining compliance
- Supporting tenancy management and income collection
- Organising scheme activities and promoting resident engagement
- Responding to emergencies and safeguarding concerns
What we're looking for:
- A background in social housing, with a good knowledge of housing and tenancy management principles, legislation and best practice
- Understands safeguarding and the needs of older/vulnerable people
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Confident lone worker with the ability to work on own initiative
