We have an opportunity for a Scheme Manager to join our Housing Operations team, based at Whinwood Grange, Leeds. Part of the Sanctuary Independent Living Team North. The team consists of 10 Scheme Managers managed by our Neighbourhood Lead for the Yorkshire and North Derbyshire area. You will be on site lone working with tenants 55+. If you have experience of working with older people or vulnerable client groups, as well as having some experience of managing a housing scheme then this is the role for you. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the scheme ensuring there are no risks to the residents or assets in the scheme. You will have the ability to work on your own but also be part of a larger team, supporting the other Scheme Managers and providing cover when required.
The role of Scheme Manager will include:
- Providing a housing management service and signposting tenants to support organisations
- Dealing with part of the lettings process, including viewings, pre void inspections
- Effectively managing any low level anti-social behaviour
- Identifying potential repairs or faults in the scheme, ensuring they are reported and monitored
- Completing weekly wellbeing calls to residents who require this service at the scheme and make safeguarding referrals when required
- Referring residents to support agencies when required and helping them access the different service available to them
- Signing up new tenants & carrying out visits
- Completing compliance testing including fire alarm checks and water temp checks
- Encouraging residents who are either elderly or vulnerable to live as independently as possible
- Covering for colleagues in the local Team as required
Skills and experiences:
- Experience of working with older people in a support capacity and understanding their individual needs or similar
- Numeracy and literacy to the equivalent of GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths
- Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, allowing you to build strong relationships
- The ability to work on own initiative in a high paced environment
- Experience of using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Occasional travel between schemes will be required; therefore a full, current driving licence is essential

The full time equivalent salary for this role is £25,374 based on 37.5 hours per week rising to £26,159 after 12 months service and subject to satisfactory performance
