About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and reliable Porter/Driver to join our Sodexo Healthcare team. Working within a busy hospital environment, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the comfort, safety, and wellbeing of patients — directly and indirectly — through the efficient delivery of portering and driving services.
You’ll work closelywith Managers, Zone Coordinators, Supervisors, and other team members tomaintain the highest standards of service and professionalism, ensuringSodexo’s reputation for excellence is upheld at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a high-quality portering and driving service, ensuring all service requests are completed efficiently and with care.
- Safely transport patients, equipment, and materials as required.
- Maintain effective communication via radio and telephone, adhering to company policy at all times.
- Deliver outstanding customer service with courtesy, professionalism, and respect for patient dignity and privacy.
- Input and manage service requests accurately using the computerised service management system.
- Support with administrative duties, reporting, and documentation as required.
- Maintain full compliance with Sodexo and Trust policies, including health & safety and confidentiality standards.
- Represent Sodexo professionally — in appearance, behaviour, and communication.
Shift Pattern
- 4 days on / 4 days off
- 10:15 – 21:45
- 36.45 hours per week
Essential Requirements
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- Previous experience in office, administrative, or customer-facing roles
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Commitment to teamwork and high standards of service
Desirable
- Previous experience within a healthcare or hospital environment
