From fixing broken toilet seats to repairing beds and giving the walls a fresh lick of paint — we’re looking for a hardworking, reliable, and practical individual to help maintain all areas of our hotel.

You’ll be responsible for general maintenance across the property, ensuring the building, guest rooms, and facilities are kept in good working order. You’ll also support the smooth running of the hotel’s health and safety requirements — including fire safety, inspections, and compliance checks.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out general repairs, maintenance, and decorating work throughout the hotel

Perform basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks

Conduct and record routine fire safety tests (alarms, emergency lighting, fire doors, extinguishers)

Carry out water temperature checks and assist with Legionella prevention routines

Undertake regular H&S inspections of equipment, plant rooms, and public areas

Ensure contractors and suppliers follow site safety requirements

Respond promptly to urgent maintenance issues or guest requests

Keep maintenance records, schedules, and inspection logs up to date

Requirements:

Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities role (hotel or hospitality experience desirable)

Good working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, and joinery tasks

18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) – essential for anyone undertaking electrical work in a commercial setting

Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Building Maintenance (Multi-trade Repair & Refurbishment Operations) or equivalent – desirable

Health & Safety qualification such as IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate – desirable for ensuring compliance and managing safety procedures

Understanding of fire safety systems and legal obligations (Fire Safety Order 2005)

Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and take initiative

Reliable, flexible, and committed to maintaining high standards

Hours:

Variable each week depending on maintenance needs. Some out-of-hours or emergency call-outs may be required.

Benefits:

Live-in accommodation available (optional)

Supportive, friendly working environment

Opportunity to take ownership of the hotel’s upkeep and safety
